ORAL SLEEP MEDICINE
Obstructive sleep apnea can affect the quality of your sleep and your overall health. For some patients, a custom oral appliance may be an appropriate treatment option.
Dr. Farrell provides oral appliance therapy for patients with obstructive sleep apnea and snoring. These custom-fitted appliances are designed to reposition the jaw during sleep to help support an open airway.
Because sleep apnea is a medical condition, appropriate diagnosis is an important part of the process. Dr. Farrell works with sleep physicians and other healthcare providers when needed to help coordinate care.

Care Designed Around the Individual Patient.
Starting With the Right Information
Some patients come to us with an existing sleep study and diagnosis. For others, we can provide a home sleep test as an initial screening step. Depending on the findings and the individual patient, that information may be sufficient to move forward with oral appliance therapy, or additional evaluation with a sleep physician or other healthcare provider may be appropriate.
When oral appliance therapy is appropriate, Dr. Farrell provides a custom appliance designed specifically for the patient. The appliance is worn during sleep and positions the jaw to help maintain an open airway.

Follow-Up Matters
After the appliance is delivered, follow-up allows Dr. Farrell to evaluate the fit, make adjustments as needed, and help ensure the appliance is functioning as intended.
